SERVICES:
Butcher beef
We raise butcher beef that can be finished with grains or grass in which we offer our customers with quarter, half or whole ( roughly 750 lbs. of meat) cuts of NEBRASKA BEEF
Information:
1.) Animals will be sold on a live weight basis.

2.) Customers should expect to pay $0.30 cents over current market value. Expect $1.25/pound of live weight.
​
3.) 30% of the live weight or 50% of the carcass weight is the amount of meat you should expect to take home.
​
4.) This all natural product needs to be picked up by YOU (the customer) at the processing facility and payment is expected prior to delivery of the animal to the butcher shop.

5.) Delivery of meat is available at an additional fee.

See below for an EXAMPLE CALCULATION: (butcher beef is very susceptible to markets/supply and demand:
1500 lbs. (live) animal X $1.25 live wt. = $1,875 Live wt.
1500 lbs. animal X 0.63 (dressing %) =945 Dressing wt. (hanging wt. at butcher) weight.

50-55% of Dressing weight is common for TAKE HOME MEAT: roughly 480 Pounds to take home meat
​
$750/ 960 dressing wt. = 0.78 cents per pound is to be expected in butcher fees.
960 X .78 = 748.80 (Processing Fee) is the amount you would expect to pay at pick up at the butcher shop for a large animal.
NOTE: Many animals will be much smaller than this while some could be larger

Total fees:
Live animal $1,875 + Processing Fees $748.80 = $2,623.80 (Total fees)

$2653.80/ 480 lbs. (take home meat) = $5.46 per pound to your freezer.
​
$5.46 per pound of meat for high quality steaks, roasts, hamburger meat. Compare that to the Store.
